Day 1 - evening de-brief

  1. "Roofing" is definitely physically and mentally tough. The hard work combined with the heat of Alabama can wear you out quickly, especially if you do not hydrate throughout the day. Luckily, we have each other to lean on and provide support for each other. -- Caleb Petty

  2. We had an incredible conversation at the de-briefing meeting after Day 1. All of the teams have been able to speak with the people we are serving and we have been blessed to see how our actions have impacted their lives. The youth have felt true gratitude and hospitality from people who have experienced loss and hardship in their lives. I wish that each of you could have been a fly on the wall to hear the stories and see the fun and excitement that was expressed despite a grueling day of hard work. Let me just say that for all the parents and church members that were not here, you should be incredibly proud of your youth. They are able to articulate with clarity and depth of thought, why they attend church, what it means to serve others, how their worship and music and Bible study, and fellowship experiences at FBC Raleigh provide an opportunity for them to experience God and have their spirit renewed, what their friendships mean to them, and how this stage in their lives prepares them for a life of service.
